Absolutely not. They never were. They've have simply partnered with AT&T for some of their high-speed Internet offerings.

So what would happen if the EU doesn't grant approval but the US does? Would Google and DoubleClick have to act as two separate companies in the EU or what?

Good point. Looks like I was wrong. iPod touch is pretty much the iphone w/o the Phone. Good to see iTunes WiFi is launching though.

If they release a widescreen touch iPod then I think it'll have to have something unique to it the iPhone doesn't have (besides larger capacity). I don't think Steve Jobs would simply release a watered down iPhone. I know I wouldn't want to anyways.

I don't understand all this. What's with all the anticompetitive business... is it just because Windows is a "monopoly." I don't think it is anymore... OSX is great and there are numerous linux distros to choose from, many of which are becoming easier to use every day.

I agree that is is a somewhat basic feature but location-based services are the future. This is a step in the right direction. This type of feature would be useful for known numbers also (if enhanced enough to tell you where the caller is within a city).
